# Cost Reports overview

A Cost Report is a saved view of cloud cost data. It keeps the date range, filters, grouping, chart, time interval, and presentation settings together so the same analysis can be reopened without rebuilding it.

## Prerequisites

Before creating a report:

1. Connect at least one cloud provider to the workspace.
2. Allow its first cost-data synchronization to complete.
3. Open **Cost Reports** and choose **Explore**.

Available actions depend on your plan and workspace role. If an action is unavailable, ask a workspace owner to check your access.

## Report workflow

Use the explorer to choose a date range, narrow the data with filters, select one grouping dimension, and choose how results are displayed. Save the view when it answers a recurring question. You can later edit, duplicate, delete, share, or schedule the saved report when the corresponding capability is available.
