# Organization and workspaces

The organization is your company's account; workspaces divide its cost into the parts people report on. See [How Costfluent works](/concepts/how-costfluent-works) for how they relate.

## Before you start

- Changing the organization's settings and deleting it needs the Owner organization role.
- Creating a workspace needs the Owner, Integration Owner or Editor organization role. Renaming and deleting one needs an organization Owner or the Owner team role on that workspace.

## Edit the organization

Open **Settings**, then **Organization**. Under **Organization Details**:

- **Organization Name** and **Organization URL**.
- **Organization ID**, used in API references.
- **Default Currency**, the organization's default currency. How each workspace presents cost is set on the workspace; see [Currency settings](/currency).
- **Default workspace access**: what the Everyone team gets on a new workspace until someone grants a team explicit access: No access, Can view or Can edit. See [Access model](/concepts/access-model).

Select **Save Changes**. The same page shows the [data processing agreement](/plans-and-billing) on record.

## Create and switch workspaces

1. Open **Settings**, then **Workspaces**, and select **New Workspace**.
2. Enter a **Workspace Name** and create it.
3. To work in another workspace, select **Switch** on it. Every page then shows that workspace.

## Set up a workspace

Select a workspace to open its details:

- **Workspace Details** shows its data sources and when it was created. Choose which connections feed it under **Settings**, then **Workspace Providers**; see [Manage connections](/connect/manage-connections).
- **Currency settings** decide how it presents cost billed in different currencies; see [Currency settings](/currency).
- **Automatic syncing** turns its scheduled collection on or off; see [Automatic syncing](/syncing).
- **Edit Workspace** renames it.

## Delete a workspace

Choose **Delete Workspace** from the workspace's actions. All data associated with the workspace is removed permanently: its reports, dashboards, budgets and the rest.

## Delete the organization

Under **Danger Zone**, **Delete Organization** permanently deletes all data, including workspaces, budgets and cost history. It cannot be undone.
